Connecting to your Dropbox

Dropbox connector allows you to read the datasets (delimited files) from your Dropbox account directly into Xceed Analytics. Dropbox connector uses an authentication mechanism called OAuth 2.0 instead of providing your login and password information to Xceed Server. When working with the Dropbox APIs, your Xceed Analytics app will access the Dropbox service on behalf of your users. You'll need to have each user of your app authenticate with Dropbox to both verify their identity and give your app permission to access their data on Dropbox.

Before connecting your Dropbox to Xceed Analytics, Review the Important Notes below.

• Ensure that browser has popups enabled for Xceed Analytics. This is required for Oauth connections.

• You are not logged in to any Dropbox account that you don't wish to connect with.

• Setup your Dropbox developer account(developers.dropbox.com) and provide OAuth Access to your Xceed Analytics Server. For more information on setting up your Dropbox account for Xceed Analytics, Review "Setting up Dropbox Developer Account for Xceed Analytics Server"

Delimited Files residing in Dropbox can be accessed via Oauth 2.0. You will be required to log in and authorize. Connect to your Dropbox data.

1. Click on Dropbox icon from the Data Connectors. A Dialog box for Dropbox connector will appear as below.

2. Fill in name and description for the connection you’re creating

3. If this is the first time you are creating a Dropbox connection,

   • you will need to add a client connection.

   • Click Add Client and Enter client name and description

4. Enter Client ID and Client Secret

5. Click CREATE

6. A window (like the one shown below) opens for you to authorize Xceed Analytics to access the data.

   If you’re not logged into Dropbox, you will be prompted to login before authorizing.

7. Once authorized, your connection will be created

This will now be available under **data Connections.
